Call for change in trespass laws after Travellers camp on Darlington parkland - County Durham

From the Northern Ech A COUNCILLOR inundated by complaints over an impromptu traveller camp is calling for a change in the law to make it easier to move trespassers on.

Nick Wallis said residents in the Springfield area of Darlington were angered after some 20 caravans appeared on a playing field over the weekend.

A locked gate was breached to enter the field, off Whinfield Road, and piles of rubbish were dumped after the Travellers moved on this afternoon (June 9).
