Irish Travellers take over park and ride and cause rush hour chaos - Somerset

From the Western Morning News

Travellers have set up camp at a council park and ride site near the M5, causing travel chaos in Taunton.

Somerset County Council has been forced to close the Taunton Gateway car park after up to six caravans were parked last night.

The group, who arrived at around 7pm as the facility was closing, were driving cars with Irish registration plates.

Individuals have been able to come and go freely but the car park, which is designed to relieve congestion in the city, some three miles away, is closed to commuters because of health and safety fears.
