AN ILLEGAL Traveller site on the side of the A253 close to Minster has been dismantled.
The encampment sprang up opposite the Minster Holiday Inn a matter of yards from the boundary fence of Manston airport over the weekend.
The site was abandoned on Wednesday evening. The occupants were believed to be French Gypsies recently moved from a site in Canterbury. The campsite consisted of roughly a dozen caravans at its peak.
