Over 4,000 people respond to Central Bedfordshire Council's plan for Gypsy sites - including 2,800 from Barton le Clay

MORE than 4,000 people responded to a council's consultation on plans for Gypsy and Traveller sites in their area.

All consultation responses and supporting evidence regarding Central Bedfordshire Council’s Gypsy and Traveller local plan have been submitted to the Secretary of State this week.

The most recent consultation ran from February 17 until March 31 and received more than 1,556 responses, plus a petition against a site in Barton le Clay containing approximately 2,800 signatures.

All of these, along with responses received in previous formal consultations, will now be considered by an independent planning inspector appointed by the Secretary of State to determine whether the plan is ‘sound’ and legally compliant.
