A legal battle has been launched against Hyndburn Council by Travellers.
The Jones family, who have been living on Sough Lane, Oswaldtwistle since 2010, face being moved on after their temporary planning permission ran out.
The family applied to the council last year for permanent permission but were refused, due to concerns over the impact to the green belt and road access.
The council has now allocated funding of £5,000 plus expenses to planning consultant Paul Sedgwick, of Sedgwick Associates, to manage the planning appeal, which will be heard at the Scaitcliffe House council offices in Accrington on Tuesday, June 24.
