Travellers hit back over 'being treated like aliens' - Inverness

TRAVELLERS who have been moved off five Inverness sites in recent weeks say local people regard them as “aliens that have fallen out of the sky”.

Speaking from their latest unauthorised pitch in Torvean quarry, the group which includes 15 children, four dogs and a gang of Romanian migrant workers, complain they are not being given a fair hearing and are barred from many shops.

“It’s annoying when we get moved on because you have to pick everything up,” said 22-year-old Shaun Deeprose.
