Residents warned more caravans on way to Travellers’ camp - Aberdeenshire

From the Evening Express

PEOPLE living near a rapidly growing Travellers’ camp have been warned more caravans are on their way.

The encampment in a car park off Panmure Gardens, Potterton, has tripled in size over the past few days with 12 caravans now on the site.

Now the Evening Express has been told another eight caravans are on their way from the south of England.

Councillor Allan Hendry, who is also chairman of Aberdeenshire Council’s Gypsy/Traveller sub-committee, said: “I spoke to the Travellers on Monday and I spoke to them again yesterday and they told me another eight caravans were coming.

“They said the rest of the group is on its way and there’s not a thing that can be done.”
