From the Harlow Star
TRAVELLERS who have moved on to a site in Horsecroft Road, Harlow, were this morning (Thursday February 6) given their marching orders by Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court,
The court was told that 11 Travellers vans and eight vehicles moved onto the site on January 29.
The court heard that Essex County Council officers would serve the notice immediately and “take such steps as necessary to remove the people and the vehicles, possibly with police assistance” by midday tomorrow.
James Hutchon, applying for the civil order on behalf of the county council, told the court: “They are causing a nuisance to business owners in the locality and they are obstructing the highway.”
He added that an earlier notice was served which the Travellers’ group had been in breach of since January 31.
