From Get Surrey
Sheep Walk in Shepperton has been closed to traffic while it is used as a temporary base for flood-hit Travellers evacuated from their encampment.
Members of the Romany community were taken off the surrounding fields on Monday night (February 3) because of flooding.
A Surrey County Council spokesperson said: “We had to evacuate the authorised Traveller encampment in Littleton Lane due to flooding.
“Sheep Walk was selected as the most appropriate and least disruptive site for this temporary relocation.
“We closed the road to protect the children from traffic and would ask motorists to respect this closure and not drive round the signs.”
