Travellers told to leave St John's Drive - Cheshire

From the Winsford Guardian

TRAVELLERS have been told they must leave land in Winsford by 1pm tomorrow, Wednesday.

An encampment of six caravans arrived at land at St John’s Drive on Saturday and have been served with an official ‘direction to leave land’ today, Tuesday.

A spokesman for Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “The police monitored the encampment over the weekend and there have been no complaints.

“There are certain procedures that the council has to go through when new Travellers arrive.

“We did the initial visit to speak to them on Monday and welfare checks will be carried out today [Tuesday].

“If there are no issues then we will start the eviction process following that.”
