A Traveller site set up last week on the car park of Walthamstow Stadium has been vacated ahead of a court hearing to authorise the clearing of the site scheduled for tomorrow.
Eviction papers were served to the Travellers on Monday by landowners, Hackney Community Transport (HCT).
Gail Penfold, Chair of Walthamstow Stadium area resident’s association, who had liaised directly with the Travellers throughout their stay in the area, said: "I am pleased the travellers decided not to make this a long term stay."
