Gypsy and Travellers' sites consultation - Nottinghamshire

From Sherwood District Council

Newark and Sherwood District Council is carrying out a consultation exercise on planning policy for Gypsy and Travellers’ sites.

The council, which is required by the Government to plan for new sites, is seeking opinions on the amount of new pitches required, where new pitches should be and suggestions for sites.

Council leader Councillor Roger Blaney said: “It is very important that the council puts in place planning policy on this matter to ensure that we have enough Gypsy and Traveller sites in the most suitable locations.”

Four exhibitions are being held during the consultation period. These are at:

Newark Library – Friday, September 27 (10am -2pm)

Newark Library – Saturday, October 5 (10am to 2pm)

Ollerton Library – Saturday, October 12 (9:30am -12:30pm)

Southwell Library – Wednesday, October 16 (10am to 3pm)

The consultation runs until October 28, 2013. More information can be found on our consultations page or libraries across the district.
