A group of Travellers is facing legal action after moving onto a field in Telford used for showjumping competitions.
Telford & Wrekin Council was today serving notice on the group to move off the field on Stirchley Lane, in Stirchley, by 5pm.
Council spokesman Russell Griffin said: “If they do not move we will be going to court to seek an order to evict them.”

The group of Travellers, with about six vehicles, moved onto the field and set up camp overnight.
They are believed to have moved from another site nearby in Madeley.
The field is used by Wrekin North Riding Club during the summer months for jumping practice and competitions.
