That this House notes with concern that HM Prison Service has been aware of its failure adequately to address the needs of Irish Travellers in prison in England and Wales; congratulates the charity, the Irish Chaplaincy in Britain, for conducting the first research study to establish the size of the Traveller prisoner population and the particular issues this group faces; and calls on the Government to work with the Prison Service to introduce an effective monitoring process and improve service delivery for Traveller prisoners to reduce recividism.
