Travellers pitch up at Stroud Green - Berkshire

From newburytoday.co.uk

A GROUP of Travellers have pitched up at Stroud Green near the Plough on the Green pub.

Cars and caravans parked up at the beauty spot late last night (Tuesday).

It is believed to be the same group who were ordered to move on from land opposite St Gabriel’s School in Newbury on Monday night.

Police cars were seen heading in the direction of the camp at about 9am today.

Followers of @NewburyToday on Twitter and users of the Newburytoday.co.uk forum were quick to alert of the camp’s arrival.

On Monday the Travellers pitched at the site near Sandleford were ordered to leave and issued with a Section 61 order.

Almost one year ago today a group of Travellers set up camp on the Millennium Green in East Ilsley on Monday before being swiftly moved on by Thames Valley Police.

The same group of 24 vehicles and 19 caravans had been moved on from Newbury showground.
