Concern as Travellers arrive at Peterborough site - Cambridgeshire

From the Peterborough Telegraph

Concern has been raised regarding a group of Travellers who have arrived at a site in Peterborough.

The Peterborough Telegraph received a report from a local resident that Travellers were driving on the grass and path near a children’s play area close to Tirrington, in Bretton, yesterday from about 4.30pm.

This is despite mounds and others obstacles being installed designed to prevent such activity.

A spokeswoman for Enterprise Peterborough, which manages open spaces on behalf of Peterborough City Council, said: “An officer has visited the site this morning and reminded them of their duty of care to keep the area clear.

“They have assured us they will be vacating after the weekend, if they fail to do so a notice will be served.”
