Talks on how to deal with Gypsy camps - Scotland

From the Press and Journal

A north-east farmer campaigning for reforms to the law for dealing with illicit Travellers’ camps held “free and frank discussions” with public authority representatives yesterday.

Phyllis McBain of Fetteresso, near Stonehaven, spelled out the weaknesses in eviction guidelines currently used by councils and the police at a meeting organised by the Scottish Government in Edinburgh.

Representatives from the Gypsy community, council group Cosla, Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire councils and Grampian Police also attended.
