An Angus businessman has sealed off his land after an encampment of Travellers pitched up.
Brian Doig, who runs Doig Builders in Arbroath, extended the fencing around his plot of unused ground off Brechin Road after the group left the area.
A total of six caravans and associated vehicles set up home across the road from the Abbey Fruits warehouse at Kirkton Industrial Estate on Friday night.
Inspector Ally Robertson of Tayside Police said they had moved on at 6am on Monday.
He said: ''We were aware of their presence but it is the responsibility of a private landowner who wishes to seek an eviction order to go through the civil courts.
''The local authority provides a Travellers' site at Balmuir, near Tealing.''
A second group of Travellers has been camped in a layby off the A92 near Carnoustie since the end of last week.
It is thought they may be part of the same party that arrived at Montrose Golf Links last month, during a visit from Scotland's top women's golfer Catriona Matthew organised as part of the course's 450th anniversary celebrations.
