From the Express and Star
Dozens of Travellers have left a Stourport car park where they were camped illegally.
The Travellers had arrived at the Riverside car park on Good Friday, bringing about 50 caravans with them.
Wyre Forest District Council was left in the position of not being able to apply for a court order to remove them until courts reopened today after the Easter holiday.
But yesterday afternoon council leader Councillor John Campion said the Travellers had left town, leaving the council to clean-up.
He said: “The rubbish has been kept to a minimum and the car park is now ready for people to use again.”
The group arrived just days after a smaller group of Travellers set up camp at the town’s district council-owned Vale Road car park.
The group, which had about seven caravans, left during the weekend.
