TRAVELLERS who have been camped next to a Marlow park for nearly a week say they will be leaving today.
The group moved on to the car park adjacent to Gossmore recreation ground last week and set up a camp consisting of three caravans.
But the Travellers camped there say they will be upping sticks at some point today before moving on to Walsall in the West Midlands.
Before arriving in Marlow the group had set up camp in Chelmsford, Essex, and one Traveller said they will be moving on again today to see family and carry out some work in the Walsall area.
The ground they set up camp on is owned by Wycombe District Council.
Catherine Spalton, spokesman for the council, said: "We were notified by our contractor on April 4 that a group of Travellers had gained access to the car park at Gossmore recreation ground and set up a temporary encampment.
"The Oxon and Bucks Gypsy and Traveller Service is liaising directly with the travellers on our behalf, as well taking the appropriate action to repossess the site as soon as possible."
