From the Traveller Movement
The Traveller Movement child poverty briefing paper sheds new light on how poor outcomes across a wide range of social indicators are indicative of high levels of child poverty within the Gypsy and Traveller communities. The briefing provides key recommendations on how this issue can be effectively addressed and has been published to coincide with the Government’s consultation on its 2014-2017 child poverty strategy. To date there has been limited focus by the Government on child poverty issues in the Gypsy, Traveller and Roma communities, despite its acknowledgement of the poor social indicators experienced by these groups.
