Camp sites sought in Casterton area during Appleby Horse Fair period - Cumbria

From the Lancashire Telegraph

LANDOWNERS in the Casterton area are being asked if they are willing to provide a field of up to four acres, for up to two or three weeks, as a temporary encampment for Gypsies and Travellers making their way to the 2014 Appleby Horse Fair.

Cumbria County Council and South Lakeland District Council will provide toilet facilities, and arrange for waste collection and disposal, and any field used would be returned to its original state.

Any landowner interested in discussing such an agreement should write to Casterton parish clerk Kevin Price, at Braeside, Low Greenhills, Crook, Kendal LA8 8LA.
