Teenager charged over murder at Leeds Travellers’ commune - Yorkshire

A teenager has been charged over the murder of a man at a Travellers’ commune on the outskirts of Leeds.

The 17-year-old, from the Wythall area of Worcestershire, was arrested on Friday in connection with the death of 57-year-old Sidney Cox at Thorpe House Farm, on Middleton Lane in the village of Thorpe, on August 24.

Mr Cox suffered multiple injuries after being attacked when a gang of up to 20 people stormed the premises.

The teenager will appear at Leeds Youth Court on Monday.

Four other people have already been charged in connection with Mr Cox’s death.

Karl Gaskin, 41, Ambrose Dear Senior, 39, John Edwards Nicholson, 24, and Michael Valance Dear, 39, all from the Doncaster area, have been charged with murder.
