Travellers at Littletown - Yorkshire

Kirklees Council has applied to the courts to remove a Traveller encampment at Princess Mary Playing Fields in Littletown.

The court date has now been set at Huddersfield County Court for December 17.

Cllr Shabir Pandor, Cabinet member for Resources, said: “The council is committed to dealing with this issue quickly for the benefit of local residents.

“There have been encampments across North Kirklees this year and the council always works quickly to deal with them by applying for possession through the courts.

“I fully understand the disruption that Travellers can cause and I am determined that this will be kept to the minimum we can achieve.”
