Essex County Council to take court action against Travellers on Harlow land - Essex

From the Harlow Star

ESSEX County Council is set to issue a court summons to remove Travellers from land in Harlow.

The group of Travellers, who were served a direction to leave last week, set up camp on county council-owned land off South Road, Harlow more than a week ago.

An Essex County Council spokesman said: “The Travellers were served a direction to leave under section 77 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order act 1994.

“As this has now expired we will shortly be issuing a court summons to take repossession of the land.”
