The Welsh Government is proposing to bring local authority Gypsy and Traveller sites under the definition of ‘protected sites’ within the Mobile Homes Act 1983.
Start of consultation: 07/01/2013
End of consultation: 29/03/2013
Currently, residents of these sites have limited protection from eviction. The proposed changes should provide equal security of tenure for Gypsies and Travellers.
The consultation also proposes changes to the terms that these residents can expect when living on these sites. These include:
clarity over the procedure for repairs
changes to the jurisdiction for resolving disputes
regulating pitch fee changes
rules relating to how pitch ownership can change hands.
We would like to obtain as much feedback as possible and would be grateful if you could complete this brief online form. Alternatively, response forms in pdf or word format are available to download below. An easy-read online response is available here.
