Go-ahead for next stage of Gypsy plan - Bedfordshire

From the Dunstable Gazette

Councillors are to visit sites on a ‘long list’ of potential new homes for Gypsies and Travellers.

A committee agreed on Thursday (Jan 17) to proceed with looking at the 35 sites, which include two in Dunstable and Bidwell.

Central Beds Council says the area needs 130 new pitches for Gypsies and Travellers.

A shortlist will then be drawn up at the next Sustainable Communities Overview and Scrutiny meeting on February 28.
