A business claims it lost thousands of pounds in trade after it was enclosed for weeks by caravans and giant mounds of rubbish.

Dave Rodda, co-manager at S E Tyres, on Broomhills Industrial Estate, said although the travellers had largely been quiet and well behaved, their presence and the amount of rubbish discarded on the estate had been “a nightmare” for business.

He said: “We’ve lost a tremendous amount of business.

“People have driven onto the estate, seen them and driven off again."
