Travellers who have been illegally camped outside an industrial estate in Cambridge for more than a week have finally moved on.
At least three caravans had set up camp in a council layby next to Trinity Hall Farm Industrial Estate in Nuffield Road.
A worker on the estate, who did not want to be named, said before they left: “They’ve been here for over a week now and the council has had to send out workers to clear the rubbish they have left.”
It is at least the seventh time travellers have set up an illegal camp on the site. As on previous occasions, the city council had started legal proceedings to get them moved on.
