Landowner in Old Windsor has proposed plans to create a Gypsy Travellers caravan site on land next to Newtonside Orchard in Burfield Road. This move has caused an outrage and incense. More than 500 people have signed a petition to express their outrage at this plan. The neighbours in Old Windsor are worried about the impact the Gypsy Traveller site could have in the village. They believe it would add stigma to their village and affect housing prices. The Royal Borough will be looking into this before making a final decision in August. Previously, landowner Mr Sines, filed an application, only to withdraw it in April last year.
