A GYPSY horse fair descended into chaos when visitors became embroiled in a mass punch-up.

Travellers fled in terror as trouble flared at the event, above, which has featured on Channel 4 TV show Big Fat Gypsy Weddings.


And one rider at the Appleby Horse Fair in Cumbria took the plunge to protest over new health and safety rules that banned the annual tradition of horses entering the River Eden to be washed.


A source said: “The Traveller was so furious that he couldn’t take his horse into the water that he went in instead.”
