Travellers move on - Sussex

From the Bexhill-On-Sea Observer

A GROUP of Travellers who moved caravans onto a field next to the Esso filling station at Glyne Gap last week left on Wednesday evening after camping there for a few days.

Their departure followed a multi-agency visit involving Sussex Police, East Sussex County Council’s Traveller liaison team and Trading Standards officers.

A large quantity of rubbish, picked over by seagulls, was left behind.

Rother District Council, which is understood to have had complaints about the encampment, is dealing with the litter problem. It is not known where the Travellers went.
