Action was taken to move Travellers on from the Merrow park-and-ride site in Guildford after a group of caravans appeared on Tuesday (April 29).
The "unauthorised encampment" was spotted by people in the area during the early afternoon, and the Travellers were also believed to have considered stopping at Clandon Golf Club.
Around six or seven caravans carrying both adults and children arrived at the park-and-ride.

A LEGAL battle has begun over a Travellers’ site in Wormley.
Appeals have been issued by the Travellers living on the site as Broxbourne Council takes action to clear families from the site in Wharf Road.
The site has been at the centre of controversy after it was found that an illegal connection had been made to the water mains, running under the railway tracks last year.

Travellers set up camp in High Wycombe - Buckinghamshire

TRAVELLERS from outside of Bucks once again occupied private land in High Wycombe this week as they waited for a permanent site to become available.
Six caravans parked-up outside the Johnson and Johnson site in Holmers Farm Way on the Cressex side of Wycombe on Monday.
One of the Travellers, who did not want to be named, said: “We are only staying until a site in London becomes available.”

FURIOUS business owners have joined the battle against plans for a controversial Gypsy and Traveller site near Radford Semele.
They are opposing plans to build 15 permanent pitches, holding up to 30 caravans with large service buildings, for the gypsy and traveller communities, which it is feared could lead to the closure of the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre.
Warwick District Council has drawn up a shortlist of sites following consultation on 20 possible locations, during which 24 further options were proposed by members of the public.

FrFurious business owners have joined the fight against plans for a controversial Travellers site next to the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre.
They have teamed up with protest group Fosse Way RAID (Residents Against Inappropriate Development) to sign a petition opposing potential plans to build 15 permanent pitches at land next to the centre on the Fosse Way near Leamington.
Business leaders have signed the petition to say that they will be severely impacted and claim the Travellers site could lead to the closure of the Exhibition Centre, resulting in the loss of up to 80 jobs, and also have a knock-on impact for the local economy to the tune of more than £2million a year.om the Coventry Telegraph

Limerick Travellers ‘want to stay on site’ - Ireland

ASSERTIONS by city councillors that Travellers want to leave Rhebogue halting site have been rejected by the Irish Traveller Movement.
At Limerick City Council on Monday, members adopted the Traveller accommodation programme for Limerick – but only after city manager Conn Murray proposed an 11th hour compromise amendment which councillors say effectively commits to closing the Rhebogue site.
The plan had originally envisaged refurbishing and building new units in Rhebogue but councillors warned they would throw out the plan if this was included.

Land in Morley could be cleared to make way for a 55 pitch Traveller caravan park if plans are approved.
Planners say the site would be in two sections on each side of Valley Road, near to Morley Station.
Site A would include 48 pitches, a designated play area, separate male and female toilet/shower buildings and a management cabin. Site B would be developed to provide a further seven pitches, a secure grazing paddock and a 40 vehicle car park as an overspill to the railway station car park and for general public use.
