Public inquiry over Traveller site plans - Shropshire

From the Shropshire Star

A public inquiry will be held to decide whether controversial plans to create a Traveller site in the Shropshire countryside should go ahead.

Developers had their application refused by Shropshire Council to build pitches for four Gypsy caravans plus a utility/day room beside the A41 in Tern Hill, near Market Drayton.

But they appealed the decision earlier this month and have now been told a public inquiry will take place.

The date and location of the inquiry have not yet been revealed.

The council turned down the application in October using delegated powers after describing it as an “alien feature” which would be out of keeping with the local area.

The scheme was earmarked for Adbo Farm in Rosehill. Agent Green Planning Solutions LLP, working for the applicant, confirmed an appeal had been lodged.
