Consultation on Kettering area Travellers’ sites - Northamptonshire

From the Northamptonshire Telegraph

Kettering Council is asking residents for views on where a number of Travellers’ sites should be located in the borough.

Kettering Council says it needs to provide 37 pitches for Gypsies and Travellers over the next two decades up until the year 2031.

Seven pitches are set to be opened in Stoke Albany Road, Desborough, later this year and three more pitches have been identified.

Eight main potential sites for the remaining 27 pitches have been identified, including Scott Road, Beatrice Road and Crown Street in Kettering, Highcroft Farm in Broughton, Harrington Road in Rothwell, off Finedon Road in Burton Latimer, off Stoke Albany Road in Desborough and Springfields, which is north-west of Braybrooke.

A number of others, suck as a plot of land in London Road, Kettering, have been listed as ‘alternative’ sites which have some constraints but not enough to rule them out.

A spokesman for Kettering Council said the deadline for comments about the plans is Monday, July 15.

A consultation event was held in Horsemarket, Kettering, on Monday this week.

Further consultation presentations will be held at Marlow House, Desborough, on Monday, June 24, and Burton Latimer Civic Centre on Wednesday, June 26. Both meetings run from 3pm to 7pm.
