From the Evening Express
A GROUP of Travellers were moved on from an illicit site in Aberdeen after local authority officers sought an immediate eviction order.
Concerns were raised when 30 caravans pitched up at Aberdeen's Seaton Park late on Thursday.
The popular park was due to host Aberdeen Kayak Club’s annual slalom event this weekend, leading to fears that the event could be affected.
But the Travellers were moved on late yesterday – under supervision from Police Scotland officers – after the local authority sought and were granted an immediate eviction notice.
An Aberdeen City Council spokesman said: “We were granted a court order to have this encampment moved on with immediate effect and we were expecting the group to have vacated the site by Friday night.”
