Travellers and Selby council in talks - Yorkshire

A MEETING was held between members of the travelling community and Selby District Council in a bid to improve relations.

Organiser Councillor Chris Metcalfe set up the event in the council offices involving about 20 councillors, Horton Housing and travelling community representatives.

He hoped to be able to plan further, less formal, meetings.

He said: “Excellent progress was made. Hopefully it will reduce some of the barriers which will encourage others to come forward.”
