COUNCIL officials are dealing with Travellers who have moved on to a car park in Stroud.
Around half a dozen caravans and towing vehicles have been parked across car parking bays at Stratford Park leisure centre over the weekend.
This morning, Stroud District Council maintenance staff were cleaning up rubbish around the caravans and officials are speaking to the owners of the caravans in a bid to get them moved.

Irish Travellers set up camp around King's Road car park in Herne Bay - Kent

Irish Travellers have set up home on a town centre car park.
Eight caravans pulled into the council-owned site in Kings Road, Herne Bay, last night and told a reporter this morning: “This is our home now.”
The vehicles, which all have Irish registration plates, have parked around the perimeter of the plot, which is set to house a new Aldi supermarket.

HUNDREDS of slow-moving horse-drawn Gypsy and Traveller caravans have started their long trek to Cumbria for the annual Appleby Horse Fair.
Police have warned motorists to be wary of congestion on roads in North Yorkshire and Cumbria as hundreds of people make their to the event, which starts on Thursday, June 5, and runs through to Wednesday June 11.
Up to 2,000 caravans are expected at the event, with travellers visiting from across Yorkshire and beyond.

HOMEOWNERS living on an estate where travellers set up camp on their way to Appleby Horse Fair expressed relief after most of the caravans left the site this afternoon (Sunday).
The Travellers, who are en route to the annual Gypsy and Traveller gathering in Cumbria, set up camp at Startforth Park, in Barnard Castle, a week ago following the closure of an official temporary stopover site at Shawbank, which was waterlogged from heavy rain.
In response, Durham County Council opened up a former salt depot at nearby Barforth Park for them to use instead.
