More Gypsy pitches for Central Beds - Bedfordshire

From Bedford Today

A FURTHER 135 Gypsy and Traveller pitches are set to be allocated by Central Beds Council by 2031.

The Gypsy and Traveller Plan was discussed by councillors at the Sustainable Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Tuesday morning.

No decisions were made on which sites will be put forward, and there is set to be a public consultation later this year to find the further sites needed to accommodate the Gypsy and Traveller community.

Councillor Nigel Young, deputy executive member for sustainable communities, strategic planning and economic development, at Central Beds said: “No decision on sites has been made at present and the Council is currently gathering evidence. There will be a public consultation later this year on site options but no definite decisions will be made until next year. The committee has recommended that the figures in the report be approved for consultation purposes.”
