Two held by police after shooting incident at Travellers' campsite - Aberdeen

From the Daily Record

TWO men were being quizzed last night in connection with a shooting near a Travellers’ campsite.

Police sealed off streets and used sniffer dogs to scour farmland after a weapon was fired at a house.

They swooped after they were alerted by a resident in the area around Dyce on the outskirts of Aberdeen.

Police wouldn’t say if they had deployed armed officers or comment on what had been recovered at the scene. But they did say no one was injured.

Earlier, forensic officers searched the walled-off yard of a house which borders land next to half a dozen Travellers’ caravans.

Detective Inspector David Hadden said: “Two men have been taken into custody and are assisting with the inquiry.

“We would like to thank the Gypsy-Traveller community for their assistance.”
