Stroud Green travellers due to be moved on today (Tues) - Berkshire

From Newbury Today

Travellers who set up home on Stroud Green on Sunday are due to be moved on today (Tues).

The travellers arrived in Greenham with 16 caravans and associated towing vehicles and cars on Sunday afternoon.

The land belongs to West Berkshire Council.

A statement from a Traveller liaison officer at West Berkshire Council said yesterday (Mon): “There are 16 caravans and various cars and trucks, plus chickens/dogs.

“I believe there are two families travelling together, the men seem to be working in the area.

“They are from Leicester, but most recently from Slough/Langley where the Christian festival took place, they have no plans to move out of Berkshire for a moment.

“This morning (Mon) I visited the site with the police, and explained why they could not park on Stroud Green, and have asked them to leave, however they have refused, but the police are able to use their own powers, and will ask them to leave at 2.00pm tomorrow.”
