Travellers pitch up at Baiter - Dorset

From the Dorset Echo

A GROUP of Travellers arrived at Baiter on Poole's waterfront on Monday night.

Around eight vans and vehicles were parked at the Harbourside car park this morning.

Borough of Poole officers are due to visit them this morning before deciding what action to take.

It is not known if they belong to the same group which camped adjoining the Ham Common nature reserve at Rockley Park recently. They left on June 28.

One local resident who was walking nearby but did not want to be named said: “It's unfair. Local council taxpayers will end up footing the bill for this. Nothing ever seems to get done about this kind of thing.”

The cost of a daily ticket for a stay of up to 12 hours at the car park is £9.60.
