A group of Travellers has set up camp in an old pub car park.
Three trailer caravans and a handful of vehicles appeared on the site of The Ranch, in Histon Road, Arbury, last week and have parked in the tarmac area at the back of the disused pub.
It appears gates to the property, which is unoccupied, have remained chain-locked and the Travellers gained access via a driveway to the side of the pub.
A resident of Linden Close, who did not want to be named, said: “I don’t like them being there, but at the same time, where is there for them to go in Cambridge?”
The Ranch was put on the market last November as a freehold or leased site and has been empty ever since.
Cambridge University’s Lucy Cavendish College is considering building accommodation for its scholars on the site.
