Travellers at Turlin Moor served with eviction order - Dorset

From the Daily Echo

A GROUP of Travellers that took up temporary residence at Turlin Moor in Poole on Wednesday has been given its marching orders.

Jeff Morley, team manager at Borough of Poole, told the Echo yesterday: “We were successful in obtaining an eviction order this afternoon, which will be served on the 30 caravans present on the site.

He added: “The Travellers have until Monday morning to leave.

“Once they have moved we will arrange to clear any debris that has been left.”

As of yesterday afternoon, three Traveller caravans that arrived on council land alongside the B&Q car park near Fleetsbridge on Tuesday were still there.

Poole and Bournemouth council leaders are due to meet government minister Bob Neill next week to discuss concerns over illegal Traveller encampments.
