CONTROVERSIAL plans to build a permanent Gypsy site have been thrown out.
More than 20 letters of objection were sent to Cheshire East Council over the planned development at Thimswarra Farm, Dragons Lane, Moston, near Sandbach.
Residents living near the site had claimed the plans would affect property prices, be an eyesore and create litter.
The development included changing agricultural land to a residential caravan site for one Gypsy family, with a mobile home, touring caravan and stable block.
The application was rejected by councillors sitting on the authority's southern planning committee, despite being recommended for approval by officers.
Committee chairman, Councillor Gill Merry, said: "It was felt the development was not in a sustainable location."
