Travellers move on to industrial estate - Derbyshire

From the Ilkeston Advertiser

Travellers who had set up camp in an Ilkeston town centre car park upped sticks last night (Thursday) and have settled on private land in Manners Industrial Estate.

The same nine caravans that were causing concerns for the council and neighbours in Pimlico car park yesterday are now in the car park of Classic Drinks in Ellesmere Court.

Erewash Borough Council staff cleaned up mess allegedly left behind by the Travellers this morning.

Eviction notices were served when they arrived on Tuesday night and the council said penalty charge notices were also issued.

Where they are currently parked is private land so the council cannot serve more eviction notices.

This morning, the Advertiser has tried to call Classic Drinks to ask the firm what it thinks about the travllers setting up camp on its land but there was no answer.
