A group of Travellers have been warned they have until Sunday to leave a car park in Preston.
Eviction notices were served after eight cars, five caravans, three trailers and horses parked on the site, next to the Trans-Continental offices in Oliver’s Place, Fulwood.
The Travellers set up camp at the car park on Wednesday,
Lancashire Police said there had not been any reported incidents of crime or disorder.
Commercial property agent Roger Parker, who is the agent for the Oliver’s Place car park’s owner, said legal action was being taken to force the Travellers to move on.
He said: “They are an annoyance to everybody and we don’t want them there. We are taking steps to get rid of them. It’s in hand.”
Paul Papworth, finance director at the garden and indoor furniture supplier Trans-Continental, said it was powerless to act as it didn’t own the car park next to its depot.
He said: “It’s causing problems for us. The bailiff employed by the owner of the car park is putting up eviction notices.”
Preston Council representatives visited the site earlier in the week.
A council spokesman said: “The owners of the car park have served notice on them and that is due to come into force on Sunday.”
