On 4 April 2012 the Department of Communities and Local Government published a progress report by the cross departmental ministerial working group on tackling inequalities experienced by Gypsies and Travellers. One of the six commitments made by this Department is to look at the impact of section 444(6), Education Act 1996 and to consult on whether it should be repealed.
