DECISION on whether to grant planning permission for a permanent Gypsy site has been deferred for a third time.
However, the site currently accommodates six pitches and 12 caravans and landowner Mr Rooney, who lives on the site, is seeking permanent planning permission for these pitches and caravans.
The application has been opposed by neighbours to the site, Arlesey Town Council and Arlesey Residents’ Association, for reasons which include highways issues and noise.
Central Bedfordshire Council officers have recommended that planning permission is granted.
A decision has been deferred twice as clarification of the plans was necessary, but it was due to be made at the council’s development management committee meeting last Wednesday.
A council spokesman said: “The council is waiting for additional information from the applicant. The application will be determined by the committee once the required information has been received.”
