Gypsy murdered over drug debt, court told - Essex

A DEBT-RIDDEN Gypsy was brutally attacked by a gang of armed men before being bundled into a van and murdered over a feud about money and drugs, a court heard.

The body of father-of-three Jesse Richards, 41, has never been discovered since the ambush at a Travellers’ site in Worcestershire on July 31, 2009.

James Doe, 38, formerly of Southminster, but currently of no fixed address and his brother Joseph, 36, of Tattersall Chase, Southminster, were among seven men who went on trial on Monday at Birmingham Crown Court, five of whom are charged with his murder.

  1. Its a shame Romany Gypsies are dealing drugs, I was shocked to death when I heard he was a drugs lord! How sad, it would never have happened in my grandparents time, people have no standards now. Sadly, if you get involved with drugs theres a price to pay and I hope it teaches people to stay away! This Jesse Richards served time for VAT fraud the newspaper said, no wonder some families have money to burn. Im Romany and this saddens me that gorjas will think we're all like this!! I feel sorry for the mans daughter as shame has been bought on the family now and she never did anything wrong.
